Christmas in New Zealand!

CONGRATULATIONS TO US!! 👏

We were supposed to have Christmas in Vienna, Austria and fly to New Zealand in February 2019.

Instead, we are flying into New Zealand in December 2018!


Many reasons:

1. We have the flexibility to do that and are still blessed to have Nathan's boss support us in our decisions and any changes we make.
2. Because we're flexible to change plans, we changed them.
3. Nothing makes you appreciate your home and the people who matter the most than travelling. The more we travelled, the more we realised that the people matter more than the countries we visit (even though we do love the countries we visit). Why spend Christmas with just the three of us when we could spend Christmas and the holiday period with our families? 
4. These countries will always be here. Family will not. With a recent death in our family, it put things into perspective for us. 
5. It's a lot to ask a 10 year old to be isolated from children his own age for 9 months. We could have made it to the end and he would have been fine but if we are flexible, why not be flexible here too? Why not let him start 2019 in term 1 instead of our planned term 2? 

All these factors helped us with our new plan forward. Were we a little disappointed that we will skip a few things we had planned? Definitely! 

But less disappointed than we thought we would be - which confirmed to us that we're making the best decision for our family.
