Airports and Airlines - Brisbane Airport

First of all airports, you need to have good bathrooms. Brisbane's are ok... same with Gold Coast. But I've never had a cleaner public toilet than the couple I've used in the Auckland airport. Constantly checked and cleaned, automatic flushing, perfect for a high frequented bathroom.

Brisbane's was not as user friendly as Auckland's, but compared to Abu Dhabi and Milan, it was pretty good.

Second of all, airlines really need to have kiosks. Only a few airlines do and I feel like all airlines should have that option. What is the point of checking in early online if you still have to wait in line to check your luggage in! Even though the line for online check in was shorter than the usual line, the amount of staff looking after the usual line was double the staff looking after the online line. In the end, we were no better off - even though we were there over 2 hours prior to our flight.

Brisbane expects flyers to take everything off and out when being scanned. Belts, watches, laptops and toiletries. You cannot take water from one side of customs to the other. You can only purchase water from the other side.

They also allowed children to go through the customs scanner - the one you have to stare at the screen and stand on the allocated spot.

They also do random checks for bomb residue. Don't be offended if they "randomly" choose you because you're brown. Even though both Nathan and I were checked.

You must pay for luggage trolleys here.

Wifi here is easy to connect to. You must sign up with an email address though and if the email address is not validated, you have to continue to sign in after a certain period of time. Otherwise, pretty straight forward.
